Recently, KIVO Flexible Plastics signed the Plastic Pact. With this KIVO Flexible Plastics that they are fully committed to a future with less plastic in a circular economy. Signing the Plastic Pact is for KIVO Flexible Plastics a logical extension of the activities already carried out to minimise the ecological footprint of its operations.
The focus of the Plastic Pact is mainly on the circular economy, with recycling playing a major role. See the infographic below.
Already existing sustainability agenda KIVO
Before the signing of the Plastic Pact was KIVO Flexible Plastics already working to close the chain. The establishment of KIVO Recycling will further enhance KIVO's ability to directly and fully traceably recycle all production surplus. In time, this should lead to closed loop solutions.
In addition, KIVO is working with partner KRAS to build a giant recycling plant in Kosovo. Together with KRAS Recycling and KIVO Kosovo, the joint venture REKS has been established. REKS stands for even better use and reuse of plastic packaging materials. KRAS Recycling collects plastic, at REKS it is sorted, washed, regenerated into recyclate and KIVO can reuse this recyclate. In short: REKS enables fully circular production.
