Since its establishment in 1966, KIVO Volendam has grown into a leading player in the packaging industry. What started as a local business is now a company with global influence. In our extensive facilities, we combine years of expertise with modern technologies to produce high-quality and sustainable packaging solutions. From the first blow film extrusion line to today's advanced production methods, KIVO Volendam continues to innovate. From this location, we send our innovations and sustainable initiatives out into the world.
Activities
Several key activities take place at KIVO Volendam that contribute to our position as a forerunner in sustainable packaging solutions. Our key processes include:
Extruding: Forming flexible plastics via blow film extrusion, which forms the basis of our high-quality films.
Flexo printing: With our state-of-the-art machinery, we can print up to 10 colours, for both simple and complex full-colour designs, always with minimal environmental impact.
Confection: Sealing and cutting of films into semi-finished or finished products, such as collection bags and sheets for the food industry.
Recycling: At our in-house recycling facility, we process production surpluses into new films for non-food applications, reducing our carbon footprint and contributing to a circular economy.
These activities have made KIVO Volendam the hub for innovation, quality and sustainability in the packaging industry for many years.
Developments
Since the establishment of KIVO in 1966 in Volendam, where the first blow film extrusion line was installed, our site has been constantly developing. In 2011, we took an innovative step with the start of 5-layer production of barrier films, which further strengthened our position in the packaging industry.
With the opening of KIVO Recycling in 2018 in Volendam, we are taking an important step in our sustainability strategy. Here, we process production surpluses into new films, helping to reduce our carbon footprint and promote a circular economy.
