Listed Bunzl, a trader in a huge range of packaging materials and consumables, has been an important customer of KIVO for many years. We work especially closely together in the production of bread bags for bakeries and supermarket chains.

Interestingly, Bunzl, as a trader, also owned a factory, Polaris Verpakkingen, where they produced their own bread bags. For Bunzl, the focus was not on production, while for KIVO the factory was a logical addition to its production capacity.

KIVO acquired Polaris Verpakkingen B.V. in February 2012. Operations remained housed in Zwolle and KIVO Volendam's other bread bag machines were quickly transferred to this location. Our extensive capacity and specialist approach to bread bag production have made us the market leader in this industry.

In autumn 2016, we moved within Zwolle to new premises, fully adapted to KIVO's high production requirements and the food industry. The larger premises offered us the space to further increase capacity.

In March 2017, we installed a new machine, making our production site even more efficient and orderly according to lean principles. We continuously invest in new, better and faster machines, and continue to train our staff to ensure the highest quality. In addition, we continuously search for improved recipes to improve the quality and sustainability of our films optimise. Our focus on innovation allows us to remain flexible and deliver the fast service our customers expect.
